Easy Language Programming

Programming the Network With Perl by Paul Barry,

Programming the Network With Perl by Paul Barry,
It is no longer enough for today's software engineers to be able to program the computer and debug programs - the modern programmer needs to know how to program the network and debug communications. This book shows you how, using Perl. Originally created as a tool for System Administrators, the Perl Programming languauge has matured into a powerful, yet easy-to-use, general-purpose programming language. Widely used on the Internet, Perl is the programming language of choice when it comes to adding dynamic content to websites using the Common Gateway Interface (CGI). Its strengths - simplicity, power and adaptability - make it an excellent vehicle with which to study computer networking and to program computer networks in general. In "Programming the Network with Perl," Paul Barry applies Perl to the study of tradiitonal computer networking topics. After an introductory tutorial to the Perl programming language appropriate for the non-Perl programmer, five key computer networking topics are examined from the perspective of the software engineer using Perl. Snooping details the creation of a successively more functional set of Ethernet Network Analaysers and cumulates in the development of The Network Debugger, a tool for monitoring the traffic generated by both standard and custom-built networked applications. Sockets details how to use Perl to create custom networked applications by programming the TCP/IP transport protocols (TCP and UDP), using the Client/Server Model and the standard Berkeley Socket API. Protocols details just how easy it is to program the HTTP (web), SMTP (e-mail), NNTP (news) and TELNET (remote login) protocols with Perl. HTML parsing is also described.Management uses Perl to program the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the cornerstone network management technology on the modern Internet.

Concepts of Programming Language by John C. Mitchell,
Concepts of Programming Language by John C. Mitchell,
For undergraduate and beginning graduate students, this textbook explains and examines the central concepts used in modern programming languages, such as functions, types, memory management, and control. The book is unique in its comprehensive presentation and comparison of major object-oriented programming languages. Separate chapters examine the history of objects, Simula and Smalltalk, and the prominent languages C++ and Java. The author presents foundational topics, such as lambda calculus and denotational semantics, in an easy-to-read, informal style, focusing on the main insights provided by these theories. Advanced topics include concurrency, concurrent object-oriented programming, program components, and inter-language interoperability. A chapter on logic programming illustrates the importance of specialized programming methods for certain kinds of problems. This book will give the reader a better understanding of the issues and tradeoffs that arise in programming language design, and a better appreciation of the advantages and pitfalls of the programming languages they use.

ABC programming language - ABC is an imperative general-purpose programming language and programming environment developed at CWI, Netherlands by Leo Geurts, Lambert Meertens, and Steven Pemberton. It is interactive, structured, high-level, and easy to learn and use, intended to be used instead of BASIC, Pascal, or even AWK.

Water programming language - Waterâ„¢ is a programming language targeted at rapid prototyping of XML Web services. Its main design goal was to be powerful while remaining simple (the designers claim that Water is as easy to use as BASIC but as powerful as LISP).

Felix programming language - Felix is a new, open source, community based programming language which provides an ML style type system with a syntax that C++ programmers should find easy to learn. It generates C++ and supports both use of C++ types as primitives, as well as embedding in existing C++ written architectures in a natural manner.

Leopard programming language - Leopard is a programming language featuring an integrated development environment for creating Windows applications. Leopard is designed to be easy to learn and it is especially aimed at users who have never programmed before.
